Time BioVentures Invests in Iterative Scopes

Time BioVentures, a life sciences and healthcare venture capital firm based in Southern California, announced its first investment in Iterative Scopes.

Spun out of MIT in 2017, Iterative Scopes is a a gastroenterology AI company founded by Jonathan Ng and focuses on applying computer vision analytics to complex endoscopy problems. Specifically, its Skout product leverages machine learning to help gastroenterologists more effectively identify polyps in the colon during colonoscopies and other GI procedures. The company is also developing its platform to more effectively investigate, attribute, and catalogue the onset of IBD diseases in patients, and build out its data sets on which to train its algorithms by partnering with pharmaceutical companies.

Proceeds will be used to advance Iterative Scopes’ focus on data at scale (both video and EHR), to search for pharma market fit, to complete of proof-of-concept and IBD pilot phases, and to complete its CRC FDA pivotal study.
